Description of the activity:
Methods used for conducting the campaign: We did survey to determine the knowledge of people regarding AIDS. The survey consisted of 5 general questions in English as well as in Hindi language. 8-10 students were holding the banner and posters while others were taking surveys in group of 5 outside vashi station. We completed the whole survey in 3 hours. We also distributed information pamphlet printed in English and Hindi along with badges. Pamphlet consisted of general information i.e what is AIDS? how does it spreads ? Diagnosis and Treatment, Misconceptions regarding AIDS and HIV

Human Rights Day
The ‘Human Rights Day’ was celebrated at Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy, Koperkhairane, Navi Mumbai on 16th December 2017. The ‘Expression Wall’ was organised for students and faculty members to express their views, opinion or thoughts about Human Rights. The ‘expression Wall’ is inaugurated by Dr. Smita Nayak with her inspiring message. The logos prepared by the students of third Year B.Pharm were also displayed. Students as well as faculty members participated in the celebration.

On occasion of International Yoga Day, Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy had organized a short session of Yoga for its students. Students of Third Year actively participated in this event. The Yoga session was held in college campus. A crowd of about 35 students had participated in this event.
The event was attended by Prof Ms. Monika who shared few words of importance of Yoga. The students practiced some Pranayamas and some Asanas. Students enthusiastically participated in this event. The importance of Yoga was well received by the students.

With a view to familiarising the faculty with various aspects of NBA accreditation, Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy conducted a half-day training session on 10th October 2017. The topics covered included ‘NBA accreditation: Thinking beyond Institutional Activities” and ‘Patent filing process in India’. The speaker Mr Vijaykumar Shivpuje is co-founder and CEO of Flexitutr, an on line platform that imparts training in various aspects in Pharmacy to students and faculty members.

Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy conducted an orientation session on NBA for its faculty members. The speaker, Dr. (Mrs.) Tabassum Khan is Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at SVKM’s Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Pharmacy. She was the steering committee coordinator for BNCP during their accreditation process and has been instrumental in the institute achieving the coveted accreditation status.
In her presentation, she elaborated on the steps involved in fulfilling various criteria laid down in the NBA manual. She explained the process of writing COs, POs, PEOs. She stressed on faculty contribution to NBA in terms of qualification, research activities, grants, publications, attending faculty development programs. According to her, appointment of core committees is critical and the beginning of the NBA process. Also every activity has to be documented with appropriate proof. Academic performance of students and student mentoring too were stressed upon.
It was an interesting and interactive session. It was well received by the faculty of the college.

LECTURE ON THE GLOBAL DRA

    An informative session on “Overview of Global Drug Regulatory Affairs” was conducted for Final Year B Pharm students of Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy on 16th September 2017. Mrs. AnaghaMaharao, Director, Institute of Pharmaceutical Management, conducted the two hour long session. She highlighted various aspects of Regulatory Affairs including innovator and generic drug product, generic drug approval process, dossiers and regulatory agencies of US, Europe, Australia, Japan, UK and ICH guidelines. It was a lively and interactive session.

A workshop on CREATIVITY AND INNOVATIONwas conducted for Final Year B Pharm students of Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy on 16th September 2017. MrVijaykumarShivpuje, founder, Pharma Team Literati, conducted the two hour long session. He stressed on techniques to innovate as well as Patent related topics of intellectual property rights and features of patents. It was well received by the students.

Parents Teacher Meeting held on 15th July 2017 At Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy.
Parent’s teacher meeting for Final year B. Pharmacy students was conducted on 15th July 2017.
Meeting starts with welcome talk by principal Dr V. H. Bhaskar and class in charge Mr. Deepak Tandale, followed by the Mumbai University examination rules and regulations explanation to parents by Mr. Bhaskar gavitre, career guidance talk by Mr. Nitin kolhe and Mrs. Rupali likhar. All the subject teachers of final year B.Pharm gave a valuable guidance and had very grateful interaction with parents. Very active participation seen by parents with huge number.

REPORT ON VAN MAHOTSAV
DATE: 1st JULY 2017
On the occasion of Van Mahotsav , 1st JULY 2017 students of Gahlot Institute Of Pharmacy along with teaching and non teaching staff celebrated the event by planting saplings at the botanical garden of their college. The tree plantation drive commenced at 10 am and all the students and teaching , non teaching staff assembled near the botanical garden to plant saplings.
The morning assembly started with the speech of honourable principal sir Dr. V. H. Bhaskar in which he threw light on importance of trees in our lives.
Each class had bought 10 saplings and around 30 saplings were planted. The saplings consisted of decorative plants , herbs and few flowering plants.
The students and the teachers also got themselves photographed and the event finally came to an end. The event was quite successful.

WORLD POPULATION DAY

World Population Day
On 11th July 2017, Students and Teachers of Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy celebrated World Population Day by performing a street play at Koparkhairane Railway Station. The students conveyed the importance of Family Planning through their humorous play. The event was attended by students of second year and third year, teachers and also non-teaching staff. Various informative slogans and thoughts were expressed by the participating students. Posters were displayed by the students in order to create awareness amongst people. A crowd of about 60 students had gathered and the street play caught attention of many people. This event was quite successful due to the combined efforts of students and teachers of Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy.
