SEMINAR ON CADD-COMPUTATIONAL SIMULATIONS

LSHGCT’s Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy, Koparkhairane, Navi Mumbai, organized a seminar on 15/02/2018 on topic “CADD-Computational Simulations, the next Disruptive Technology in Pharma R&D” by Mr. R. Raghu, Vice President,Schroedinger, Banglore, India. Mr. Raghu explains how the cost effective simulation is provided by the Drug Design softwares and their applications in pharma Research and Development. The seminar was very informative and knowledge making. The GIP staffs and PG students were present during the seminar.
Our Principal Dr. V.H.Bhaskar welcomed the guest and Mr. Nitin Kolhe organised and anchored the event.

Alumni Meet

On 17 march 2018 Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy organized alumni meet. Mrs. Rupali Likhar and Dr. V. H. Bhaskar welcomed and briefed the alumni about the progress of institute. Some of the alumni also gave the speech about their feelings as a alumni of the institute followed by lunch in afternoon. The feedback form were distributed and collected from alumni. The event was coordinated by Mr. Deepak Tandale.

Annual Day

The 12th Annual Day was celebrated at Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy on 10th of February 2018. The function started with felicitation of the dignitaries present on the dais. Dr smita nayak gave the introductory speech followed by Principal Dr. V. H. Bhaskar who gave the Annual Report (Year 2016-17) of the Department of Pharmacy. Honorable chairman, Dr Om Gahlot gave words of inspiration to the students. Merit awards were given to the students who topped the University Exams. Students of the institute performed various cultural activities and entertained the audience present in the event. The event was successfully organised by the incharge Dr Preeti Kulkarni.

Career Avenues in Clinical Trial

An informative session on ‘Career Avenues in Clinical Trial Analytics’ was conducted by Ms Jyoti Phadtare and Mr Suraj Shinde from ClipLab, Cytel Statistical Software & Services Pvt. Ltd. The audience was Final Year B Pharm and M Pharm students. The talk was held on 31st January 2018 and organised by Dr. Smita Nayak, Professor of Pharmaceutics.

CULTURAL WEEK 2018 REPORT

Cultural week was celebrated by Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy between 22nd January to 29th January 2018.
The day was celebrated and all the students showed keen interest in participating in the events that were organised. The cultural week events not only rejuvenated the students from the busy schedule but also gave them a platform to showcase their talents.
All the events were judged by the teachers. The cultural week took place smoothly under the co-ordination of Mr. Arvind Naik (Event In-charge).

Students were gifted with the photo frame as a token of appreciation followed by DJ Some Titles were also awarded to different students. The event was coordinated by Mr. Deepak Tandale.

Guest Lecture on Air Pollution

Guest Lecture was arranged on 5th of March 2018 at 10.30 am in the First Year B Pharm lecture hall on ‘Air pollution’ by Ms. Shweta Ramani, MSc Environmental Sciences for First Year B Pharmacy students. The insight on air pollution was explained to the students with various case studies. She also gave a thought on application of environmental science in the pharmaceutical field. The lecture was successfully arranged by Dr. Preeti Kulkarni

How to manage money and be a smart investor workshop

On 27 February 2018 Gahlot Institute of pharmacy has organized a workshop with the help of consumer guidance society of India on “How to manage money and be a smart investor” for final year B. Pharm students.

Mr. Pratik Mishra and Mr. Trilok Mishra guided students about how to become a smart consumer. The event was coordinated by Mr. Deepak Tandale under the supervision of principal Dr. V.H. Bhaskar.

Industrial visit for Tybpharm to ACG

On Friday 2nd February Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy organized one day industrial visit for T.Y.B.Pharm students at ACG worldwide industries at Shirwal, Pune.

The visit was organized by Mr. Deepak Tandale. Student visited three different units Associate capsules Pvt. Ltd. , ACG Pharma Technologies, ACG Pharmapack Pvt.Ltd.

The entire team of ACG educated students about manufacturing operations. The students gained knowledge on capsule manufacturing, pan coating, fluidized bed drying as well as pharmaceutical packaging materials

ADVANCES IN NANOTECHNOLOGY

Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy conducted a Sympatec GmbH sponsored one-day International Seminar on ADVANCES IN NANOTECHNOLOGY on Friday 16th February 2018 for faculty of Pharmacy Colleges in and around Mumbai. The seminar was inaugurated by Dr. R. H. Iyer, ex-Head of Radiochemistry Division at B.A.R.C., Mumbai. The esteemed speakers for the seminar included Dr. Deepak Hegde, Director-Global External Development & Supply- Asia Pacific, GSK Shanghai R&D; Mr Vijay Kshirsagar, Director & CEO- TRAC Pharma Consulting ; Dr. Burkhard Baier’ Chief Representative India, Sympatec GmbH, Mr Abhinav Paliwal, Asst. Product Manager, Sympatec GmbH and Dr. Vandana Patravale, Professor of Pharmaceutics, Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai. The seminar was organized by Dr. Smita Nayak, Professor and Head of Department of Pharmaceutics.

International Women’s Day

On the occasion of International Women’s Day on 8th March 2018, Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy, Kopar khairane, Navi Mumbai has arranged an in-house programme with the students and the teaching faculties. That Celebration includes motivational speeches from students and teachers. The topic of main discussion was “International Women’s day Celebrated or Uncelebrated”. The event was successfully organized by the Dr. Sanchita Mandal under the supervision of Principal Dr. V.H. Bhaskar.

Miss Rhuddhi Raut, M. Pharm student, Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy, Navi Mumbai bagged the first prize for her poster entitled “Simultaneous Estimation and Validation of Sofosbuvir and Velpatasvir in Tablet Dosage form by RP-HPLC Method” at 69th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress 2017 held at Chitkara University, Rajpura, Punjab from December 22nd to 24th, 2017. She worked under the guidance of Mrs. Bharati Fegade, Assistant Professor, Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy. The work was carried out in collaboration with and under guidance of Dr. Raman Mohan Singh, Director and Dr. Vijaya Kumar, Senior Scientific Assistant, Central Drugs Testing Laboratory, Mumbai.

Rx Melange 2018 (Cultural and Sports Report)

Rx Melange 2018 dated from 25th January to 28 January 2018 witnessed many artistic and creative minds of the students. Our students participated in many events like Fashion Show (Theme- Masquerade) and Group Dance (Theme- Bollywood Fusion). Mr. Kedar Kshirsagar and Ankush Pathak secured 2nd place in tattoo making. Miss. Aditi Kamble from managed to reach the finale.
