ANNUAL DAY 2016-17
The 11th Annual Day was celebrated at Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy on 4th of February 2016. The function started with felicitation of the dignitaries present on the dais. Principal Dr. V. H. Bhaskar gave the Annual Report of the Department of Pharmacy. Merit awards were given to the students who topped the University Exams. The student council members and the IPA (Indian Pharmaceutical Association) members were also felicitated. Students of the institute performed various cultural activities and entertained the audience present in the event. The event was successfully organised by the students and cultural in-charges of the college.
M. Pharm student Mr. Nikhil Dhanvijay, under the guidance of Dr.SmitaNayak, Professor of Pharmaceutics, Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy, successfully presented a poster entitled ‘Development and validation of stability indicating assay method of Saxagliptin in bulk and tablet dosage form by RP-HPLC’ in 21st APTI Annual National Convention (APTICON - 2016), held at Manipal University, Manipal during 14th to 16thOctober 2016. The project was carried out in collaboration with Central Drugs Testing Laboratory (CDTL), a Government of India Enterprise

Farewell party Report
Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy organized farewell party on 14th April 2017 at college auditorium, where students of third year B. Pharm. bid farewell to the outgoing students of final year B. Pharm. with great enthusiasm. Principal Sir and other faculties wished good luck to the final year students for their future. Various exciting games were arranged for outgoing students and were enjoyed by all.

M. Pharm (Quality Assurance) students of Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy at poster presentation session of the 68thIndian Pharmaceutical Congress held from 16thto 18thDecember 2016 at College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The posters were based on their project work carried out in collaboration with Government of India Central Drug Testing Laboratory, Mumbai.
The process of digitization of the library has been initiated with the procurement of a bar code scanner and printer.
The library has received a grant of Rs 60,000/- from Government of India’s Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in A.Y. 2015-16 for creating book bank facility for students of reserved categories. Same has been utilised to procure around 100 text books relevant to all semesters of B Pharm. These can be availed by the students for study purpose and are to be returned only at the end of the semester.
The library has also added 500 new titles to the existing books. The total count of books in the library as on date is 6600. The library subscribes to 15 national and 5 international research journals.
ONE DAY INDUSTRIAL TOUR TO PIRAMAL HEALTHCARE 2016-17
We organized one day industrial tour to Piramal Healthcare, Mahad on 21st January 2017 under the guidance of Dr. Smita Nayak by Mr. Deepak Tandale for third year B. Pharm students.
Mr. Shantiram Ray first gave students brief presentation on the company and their products, one of the famous product includes saridon tablets. Then students were shown the whole manufacturing area by Mr. Sachin shelke. Where students seen the modern instruments and the whole process of tablet making. Afterwards all had lunch in company canteen. Finally the photo session was done for memorable trip.
SELF DEFENSE TRAINING 2016-17
Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy organises ‘Self defence training for Girls’
Gahlot Institute of Pharmacy successfully conducted ‘Self defense training programme ’ for its students on 3rd March 2017 . The training programme was conducted in collaboration with Sports Authority of India recognized ‘Star One Taekwondo Academy’ from Thane. Taekwondo is the Korean art of Self – Defense and Physical Fitness. It is considered the most modern of existing self – defense arts. It is an exact system of symmetrical exercises designed for unarmed self defense and counter- attack.
The president of the academy Mr. Deepak Malusare, personally guided the students on various Martial Arts and techniques for self defense. It was followed by demonstration of the techniques by his team which involve four taekwondo and sports teachers as well as students from taekwondo academy. In later half of the session, students were told to perform the techniques under the supervision of taekwondo teachers. This programme helped the B. Pharm students in learning various simple self defense techniques which they can use effectively for their protection. Acquiring knowledge of these techniques also helped to boost the self confidence of students.
TCS PLACEMENT 2016-17
A campus recruitment drive was conducted by TCS Business Process Services in the college premises on 20th February 2017. Around 30 Final Year B Pharm students appeared for the same. After several rounds of interview that included aptitude test, Group discussion, Technical and managerial rounds, nine students were selected.
